Talking Dopefish's Solo Mesmer :)

DOPEFISH'S SOLO MESMER

1.Foreword:
I'm a Fan of Mesmer and PvE. That doesn't fit very well. So I decided to make a build that can solo a few territories. While testing the Build I recognized that it can solo very much in Tyria and Cantha (I'll check out Elona soon).
Please don't flame because of my bad English. Have fun with the build/guide.

2. Basic Equipment

-scythe with +19-20% enchantements

-armor: +10 armor while activating skills

-sup. Run on illusion
-minor rune on inspiration
-3x +2 energierunes
-headwear with +1 illusion

3. Soloable Places

Normal Mode:

1. The Desert

1.1 Elona Reach

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Eather Feast

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Lure the minos to the Edge and kill them with IW. Then get the Cristal and head to the right forge.

Now you got to proceed like this
-lure the warriors next to the monks and drain there energy by using SV/AV
-the necros should run away
-kill the warriors and monks with IW
-heal yourself by using eather feast on the necro (only on him, wars and monks don't have energy)
-get rid of the necro

1.2 Skyward Reach

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Crystal Wave

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Cast the enchantments and lure 3-5 hydras. Now drain there Energie with SV/AV and kill them by using IW and Cristal Wave

1.3 Vulture Drifts

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic-Armor Glyph of Concentration

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Lure the Warriors to the Rangers and cast the Glyph. Every cast that takes about 1 sec and more should be casted after the glyph.

Lure the griffons, drain their Energie and kill them with IW

1.4 The Scar

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Eather Feast

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

You've got 2 options:
-head right for killing some hydras
-head right to clean up griffons
Both have been explained before.

2. The Shiverpeaks

2.1 Tascas Demise

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Aura of Restoration

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Lure the Warriors behind the rock, so that the rangers won't hit you (see Witte Wars Thread).
Now drain there energy/adrenalin with SV/AV and kill them with IW
Aura of Restorationworks well agains the degen of -3.

Now let the rangers and necros kill you (I can't manage a degen of 6 there :/ )

Kill the group of rangers and warriors with SV/AV and IW.

The next group is harder. Lure the warriors together and use SV/AV. If there are any rangers in the group just hide behind a jut.

2.2 Snakedance

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Imaginated Burden

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Lure the griffons with a longbow. If they cast the symbol walk a few steps backwards. Then drain their energy and kill them with IW.

If one of the nightmares spawn kill them with IW but watch out of their knockdown while casting skills.

Cast your enchantments and lure a group of dwarfes. Wait until you got knock downed 3 times and use SV/AV after that. Lure a Monk next to a wall/rock and cast the burden on him.
Now you can block him between the wall, the warriors and yourself like the screen shows.
After that you can kill them with IW

2.3 Talus Chute

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Aura of Restoration

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Take the left way to the cave and kill the avicaras with IW and SV/AV.

Now enter the cave and lure the trolls to this point. They won't run away if they stand like this.
Use SV/AV to avoid interupts.

2.4 Grenth's Footprint

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Armor of Earth Ignorance

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-6 Inspiration
-7 Domination

Lure the first Groups to the dwarfen Healer, who will heal you out of your high degeneration.
Just kill everything with IW.

After you've killed the first Groups go and talk to Alkar, who will run with you and heal you.
He won't affect your drops.

In order to kill Flint, you have to lure at least 1 warrior next to him to drain his energy with sv/av.

When fighting Wroth you have to use the same strategy as in the Snakedance.
Here it takes a lot more time, because you don't have the burden.

Thorgall should be easy. I've only did 1 run yet and forgot that hexes end faster on bosses >.<
But with Domination on 7 he should be very easy....

2.5 Mineral Springs

Skills:
Mantra of Frost Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Channeling Mantra of Resolve
Glyph of Concentration Aura of Restoration

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Grab yourself some Heroes/NPC's and get to the cave....
Then order them to stay back, so that you get 100% of the loot (except of gold)

Alwys use the Glyph before Stoneflesh, IW and Armor of Earth. If it isn't available use mantra of resolve.
Killing them is very easy if you don't forget that.

You can kill anything in the cave. Don't aggro tot much if you're new to this
I've done it with full aggro and my pc gave up at the end :X

3. The Underworld
Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Armor of Earth Sympathic Visage
Kinetic Armor Ash Blast

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Cast all enchantments and lure 3 aatxes. If a Nightmare spawns kill him by using Ash blast immediately (this works better than an interupt). Then cast SV which you need to drain the aatxe's energy
Now cast IW. You gut to be sure that none of the aatxes got an active riposte. Always recast SV immediately. Watch out for the riposte animation. If you see it stop attacking and wait a few secs.
The graspings are easier. Drain there Energy and kill them.
Then take the way to the smites.

Drain there Energy with SV. Then kill them with IW.
Make sure you don't hit more than 3 at once (if there are 3+ standing next to each other you'll attack 4-5 alternately)

Groups of 4 or 5 should stand like this. If you can't manage to lure them as i did on the screen take an axe/sword and kill 1-2 until there are only 3 smites left. Then kill them with your Scythe.

If you've cleared all smiters you can go back to the chamber or entry of the Mountains and kill some aatxes/grapsings.
Then your UW run is 100% completed

4. City of Kaineng

4.1 Xaquang Skyway

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Aura of Restoration

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Use SV and lure the Vermins. Wait a few secs and cast IW. Then kill them.

5. Kurzick und Luxon Territories

5.1 Pongmei Valley

Skills:
Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Crystal Wave

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Lure the necros and warriors to the eles and drain there energie with SV/AV. Then cast IW and kill everything.

Lure the warriors to the caster (mesmer or ele) and use sv/av to drain their enery.
Then cast IW and get rid of 'em,

5.2 Tanglewood Copse

Skills:
Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Aura of Restoration

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Lure the warrios next to the ritus and use SV/AV. Then kill them and head to the rangers.
Don't be afraid of their traps. You'll only suffer from bleeding, which can be survived easily.

Hard Mode:

2. The Shiverpeaks

2.1 Ice Tooth Cave

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Kinetic Armor Aura of Restoration

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

This Area is really easy. Cast your enchantments and kill everything with IW, SV/AV.

2.4 Grenth's Footprint

Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Sympathic Visage Ancestor's Visage
Armor of Earth Ignorance

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-6 Inspiration
-7 Domination

Just put up your defense and lure the mobs next to the healer....
Then kill everything with sv/av.

Watch out when you move forward. Don't run away to far from the healer
(that happend me twice :X - i'm such a n00b ^^).

Go to Alkar and talk to him....
Now everythign is easy as hell

3. Kryta

3.1 Province North Kryta - TQ

Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Kinectic Armor Frigid Armor
Armor of Earth Glyph of Concentration

attributes:
-13 Illusions
-11 Earth
-5 Inspiration
-9 Water

Kill the imps with using every enchantment.
With frigid armor they can't set you on fire.

Earth and Wind titans are very easy. Just keep up your defense and kill them with IW.

-No Comment o_O-

If you get into a maelstrom use glyph of concentration to avoid interrupts.

4. Ring of Fire Islands

4.1 Augury Rock

Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Kinetic Armor Ward of Stability
Armor of Earth I(optional)

attributes:
-15 Illusions
-11 Earth
-8 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

When fighting against Phantoms cast IW and cover it with other enchantments.
Then kill it

Put up the defense and try to avoid a few MS. If you can't then cast ward of stability and kill them with IW.

3. The Underworld
Skills:
Stonestriker Mantra of Earth Stoneflesh-Aura
Illusionary Weaponry Armor of Earth Sympathic Visage
Kinetic Armor Ancestors Visage

attributes:
-14 Illusions
-12 Earth
-5 Inspiration
-3 Fast casting

Don't cast your enchantments at the beginning.
You'll fight against 4 Groups of aatxes and 2 patrolling ones.
Attack the first groups (on the top of the stairs) with a bow and run behind Benton.
If a nightmare Spawns let him strip an SV or AV.
Then recast Armor of Earth and Stoneflesh and kill him with an earth staff.
After that recast your enchantments and kill the groups.
Then Aggro the first group downstairs from behind the ghost with the quest and run behind benton to be save from nightmares.
As soon as you're done check everything for nightmares and lure the group above the highest stairs.
After that you can kill the Graspings.
They are quite easy:
Watch out - If they are more than 3 one will run away if you use a scythe. So kill them with an axe/sword until they are 3

Then make your way to the smites.
There are 2 spawns on your way:
-2 Graspings and 1 poped up Dying NM - let them out and sneak around them
-3 Graspings - Kill them

Smites are very easy. If they are more than 3 kill 1-2 with a caster sword/axe until they're 3.

Then kill them with your scythe.

I'm not sure with cold fire nights and i didn't have the ballz to try them
They could be doable by luring smites+nights and drain their energy with sv/av and kill them first.
G2 try that out sometime.

The dropps are quite nice but if you're going in there for ectos only i recommand using nm :P

Now since I'm a little rusty on farming this might be a silly question but here goes

What advantages does this build offer compared to old invinci-mesmer using IW?

i can tank more enemys than with the 55hp build....
and with a scythe you would have 105 hp and that's not really invinci ^^
and you can make mistakes. if you forget one ps with the 55hp you're dead...
and most of the regions wouldn't be doable with the 55hp i guess

You seem to be right. Just tried Pongmei valley with my old IW build, can't cut it. Taking too much damage even against 4 Kirrins. Don't know what causes all the dmg though, they can;t hit me THAT fast.

Did they change anything about the Kirrins btw? I seem to remember that invinci farming was possible there in the past with an IW build.

I've improved the solo uw build today. With ash blast instead of an interupt it is easier and can now be done by everyone
Just check it out.... it works very well

Looks good however in UW nightmares have a 1 second cast for Rend Enchantments. Ash Blast has a 1 second cast, so to beat their cast you will have to be pretty quick.

you don't have to be that quick....
they've got the spawn animation which will last at least 1/2 sec....
just hold c and press tab(*the number of aatxes) then wait 2 secs if you hear the spawn sound press tab again and cast ash blast. Try it out it is really easy. You don't need to be as quick as with an interupt spell (if you would use one you need good reflexes )
With the interupt i was able to survie like 60-75% of the nightmares. Now i survie 99% .....

I'll post it in this thread aswell:

Nice one Dopefish, nice guide with all the screens and stuff ^^.

You can farm stuff in nightfall with this build aswell I think. Mokeles, Enchanted Brambles, perhaps even titans. And ofcourse the usual insects (which are about the equivalent of mino's, easy low loot) and spearthrowing monkeys.
If you bring something to shut the monk down, u can kill the skree aswell. And djinngroups without a diamond djinn can probably go down to your build aswell...

Just some NF Ideas

Yay for mesmer farming builds!

I love playing my mesmer but she is not getting as much use as she should. Maybe this build can change that.

Thanks ^^
